The Meals Security and Commonplace Affiliation of India (FSSAI) has awarded Bhopal Railway Station a 4-star ‘Eat Proper Station’ certification. The Ministry of Railways, in a press launch, acknowledged that the railway station was given this prestigious award for offering ‘high-quality, nutritious meals to passengers’.

It has been a norm that railway stations are awarded the mentioned certificates after an FSSAI-empaneled third-party audit company charges the railway stations by way of hygiene practices and meals storage. Reportedly, the company charges them on a scale of 1 to five. It’s on the idea of those scores that the railway stations are awarded certifications. As per the size, 4-star score means full compliance by the station to make sure protected and hygienic meals.

Aside from the Bhopal Railway Station, Chandigarh Railway station was the fifth Indian railway station that was awarded a 5-star ‘Eat Proper Station’ certification in September 2021, whereas the others railway stations to have acquired such awards previously embody Anand Vihar Terminal Railway Station (Delhi), Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Mumbai), Mumbai Central Railway Station (Mumbai), and Vadodara Railway Station (Vadodara).
